How about U for UNDERSIDE of a spider. The plane of focus falls on the third leg on the right, but DOF on this tiny spider is insufficient to maintain best IQ on the colorful abdomen

So glad that you post the SA wildlife shots, as we've never been to your part of the world to do a safari.

W is for WOVEN. At a pottery maker famous for their basket-weave pieces.

That is one super "X" image! No need to stretch the imagination.
Y is for YELLOW SUNFLOWERS. I've got something interesting for "A" if fellow Pentaxians will refrain a bit after "Z" is posted.

New word/plant for me.
Loquats are an Asian fruit, grown in many tropical areas. I have a loquat tree in the back yard, actually. Fruit can be quite delicious. Thin skin, a few largish seeds, flesh texture similar to an apricot but the flavor is different. Very popular (as that image shows) with the birds. I have a big flock of Amazon parrots that show up every day for loquats, when they're in season (like now).

Interesting. I don't think they are commonly available here, although possibly in an Asian specialty store. M (wife) says she cannot remember eating/seeing one here, but thinks she may have had them during a trip to China (I had committed to doing some consulting work and was unable to go with her). She thinks they are similar to the readily available kumquat, and if so, it might explain why markets here don't bother importing loquats.

Decided to do a little research. Although they might be similar in appearance, size, and maybe taste, loquats and kumquats are not related. The latter is a citrus fruit closely related to oranges and sometimes placed in the same genus (Citrus). Loquats on the other hand belong in the rose family, and the taste varies quite a bit depending on the cultivar, from sweet to puckery acidic.

B is for box

This box covers a test well at a nuclear test site. In 1963 Project Shoal was detonated near Fallon, Nevada.
