L is for LABYRINTH. Two views of the palace of Knossos: The first gives a hint of the complex floor plan of the multi-roomed structure; The second image, looking down a light shaft, shows three of the four or in some areas possible five levels that the palace originally had (most upper levels long since collapsed).

Yeah, better imho, than the one of Nelson Mandela i've posted recently. This one seems more realistic.

O is for OLIVE MERCHANT. Took a second shot with just the bins of olives when I realized the seller had stepped into this picture, but I sort of like effect.

OK, Here's yet another QUERN for "Q." This one, with it's grinding stone, was buried under meters of ash at Akrotiri on Santorini.
