Taken on Galapagos?
Wpresto - Nope, taken on Lake Sam Rayburn outside Lufkin Texas. Not completely positive it's a Vermillion Flycatcher, but that's as close as any of my books say, and this should be on the outside edge of their range, nothing else I see here comes close, and I have already gotten a good ID on most.

Interesting. I've seen them in the Galapagos where they are somewhat famous for perching atop the big tortoises to have a look-about, but almost all of the Galapagos birds are also found on or have evolved from birds in South America (no surprise). I was somewhat surprised to see a great blue heron & American oyster catchers on the Galapagos.

Wow, I get tingly just looking at that picture! Good on her for having the courage to do that. I like high places, but I might draw the line at stepping off the edge like that!

R is for Radio Recievers, or Radiation, or Rocks, or Razor wire... what else?

Plenty of Roads back there, but you can't really see them.
