Q for QUOIN of MIRE, AKA: coin of mire or gunner's quoin/coin. It's the wedge that raises the gun. Came across the term by accident. This is a crop of an image I've posted before.

Though the same first time I saw it, then it struck me as being an Olympic high dive platform (shudder).

T for train. They seem so massive when standing close, yet in this country they hardly seem as big as toys.

W for WHITE-BELLED BUSTARD, hiding its belly. There a quite a few African birds called WHITE-XXXXX (belly, head, crown, brow, etc.)
