Cats, elephants and many of the larger birds & birds of prey are oblivious or nearly so to vehicles; gazelles, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes are more skittery and tend to move off to their perception of a safe distance. The female cheetah & her cub we observed stalking Thomson's gazelles started on one side of the road then crossed between two vehicles apparently using one as a shield between herself and the prey. Big cats, lions/cheetahs, have been known to jump onto hoods/bonnets & roofs of tourist vehicles, and in one video clip I saw, a cheetah peed down through the open roof scattering the occupants. Hooray for the kitty!
