Thanks for info. Did not know what it meant despite Googling an Aafricaner/English dictionary (they wanted a fee). It was on old farm implement, harrow or rake. Wonder if it had more the meaning of "leader" or "foremost."

K for KISS - at least it looks like a kiss. As a scientist, I'm inclined to think the mother may be nipping off a parasite, which is also a loving gesture.
