I'm sure there's some Pentaxian who could tell us the specific purpose of this type of saddle.
I am by no means an equestrian, but I have spent most of my life in Alberta and currently live very close to the Spruce Meadows show jumping facility.

If you have more pictures of similar saddles, I think you can use them the next time J comes around.

So that saddle is for jumping. I would have thought that a jumping saddle would have something more in the "horn" position at the front, but maybe that would actually be dangerous. The two other saddles from that display are quite different, and are not US cowboy style, nor side-saddle, nor English riding-to-the-hounds style (as I understand that design), nor racing style (very short drop to the stirrups), BUT, as noted, my knowledge of tack is akin to my knowledge of landing a space shuttle.

Mounties on my grandfather's homestead, circa 1916.

Thought of this after the saddle discussion, sorry for the brief detour into non original work.

National Route 1- Starting from Cape Town in the south west, and ends at Beit Bridge- the Border post with Zimbabwe. This is part of its Johannesburg section, and the busiest road in Gauteng.
