Native copper (FYI: For any not familiar with geology-speak, "native" = an element not bonded into a molecule with something else, or if you wish "pure copper."). Copper, gold, and silver are among the few malleable metals found as a native elements in quantity. Deposits of native copper around the Mediterranean, on Cyprus especially as I remember, probably triggered the age of metal implements, especially because copper deposits commonly also contain tin, which makes bronze possible, a much better metal for implements, sadly, especially swords and knives.
