A rather grand hay and animal barn, obviously designed for a diversified farm of an earlier age, now landlocked amid expanses of nothing but livestock-free row-crop land. Considering the new metal roof and excellent paint, it must be repurposed for current needs of that sort of farm.

Central Illinois, USA. Early morning heavy overcast. Not the best light for shooting but the only timeframe I was allowed for this shot. I would like to go back and do a longer exposure with good lighting and rolling clouds. I would also opt for a different lens, this was auto focus, it appears to be off, I could have done better in manual. Maybe next time.

Playing with sepia tones

Old buildings like those reveal past farming practices, now often abandoned to row-crop-only farming. The near barn has a gigantic hay loft. Silos often meant being prepared to feed dairy cattle over winter. One of the smaller outbuildings looks like a poultry house. The older barn in the rear is obviously from the days farming with horses.
