Awww....love an old barn / shed / house. and these shots are a great start to what will be a very interesting thread.
I'll buy in later when I get to my other computer.

The goose on the roof Jim? Now that is a classic barn.

That does it. The next time I am on a drive with my wife and I see an interesting barn scene, we are pulling over so I can get some shots. "Testing my wife's patience"? Let this be your warning, my love. The vehicle now stops at all photo ops.

My wife likes stopping at those places. However, she stays in the vehicle at the haunted houses.

Got a couple to toss into the ring here

First one is just across the street from my suburban housing development, I just liked the imagery with the lonesome tree and the barn with an interesting conveyor belt track at the edge of the cornfields.

The other one is along the shores of Lake Michigan, drove past it on a road trip for work and had to stop... Old octagon barn.

Jim

Now we're cookin". I was right, barns are fun to shoot, there's some great stuff here.

Peter, I like the sense of scale in your photos. I was mostly using the 55-300 for barns because it's often hard to get close, but from now on I'll be taking the 18-250mm. It does a fine job and covers the range without constant lens changes. Here's one with the 18-250.

I couldn't get closer because of a fence so i zoomed in to 250mm:

Great shots. The Mormon barn shots with the Tetons (?) in the background are stunning.

Here's a couple of mine from over the years, I hope you dont mind an old house as well.

Cheers.

Adelaide Hills. South Australia. Looking over vineyards near Willunga.

I believe the road is called the "Rattlesnake Hwy" because of its twisty nature (A great road for a motor bike...or a Porsche, Jer ). Somewhere between Lewiston & Halfway in Oregon. USA.

SE Qld.... the lesson learned here is always carry something in the car you can stand on ....just couldnt quite get high enough to get the shot I wanted.

SE Qld. Australia again.
