The view from Zenjibu-ji (Zenjibu Temple) in Kochi, Shikoku, Japan. The road up is very steep and narrow, but at least it's not as hard as hiking up on foot. The view is worth the trip!

Pano by crop. A 20-second exposure courtesy of my PK-mount Sigma 12-24 @ 12mm and A7 with two ND gels in behind the lens (ND4+ND16). Image developed and tone mapped in Affinity Photo.

I don't know if the image looks as cold as I was while standing there.

Most of my panos have been single-frame crops lately, but here's a recent two-frame stitch:

Not quite as much a natural for a pano-by-cropping as a snake, but close. BTW: The mesh atop the boardwalk is apparently because the wood gets dangerously slippery when wet.

I do believe you have captured an excellent image of Plestidon fasciatus, aka the five-lined skink.

I'm doubtful on that id.because the picture was taken in Australia. The lizard's long slender body also doesn't fit my gestalt idea of a skink. But, I have been profoundly wrong with identifications more than once (lost count).

OK I must eat crow, or skink. It is a "common garden skink" Lampropholis guichenoti known by several other common names (but not five-lined) and several other generic and species names all now regarded as junior synonyms for L. guichenoti

Then, I'm definitely wrong! I assumed it was a N. American species of skink, so not the five-liner at all.

No matter - great pic and nice lookin' lizard!
