Re-post from another thread (had trouble finding this thread). We think of this as a typical Icelandic rest area. There would be a road sign showing a picnic table with a pine tree providing shade, but at practically every site, not a tree to be seen. This spot was extreme, a seven-mile wide swath that was stripped bare by the catastrophic release of flood water that had been melted under a glacier by volcanic activity. A full 180 degree pano. The arranged boulders at left and right are in a perfectly straight line to mark the edge of the parking area.

I shot this yesterday for a painting company that just worked on this house. We got a boom lift to give us this perspective as the shots from the ground just didn't have the impact. I wish we could have done this a couple of weeks ago when the leaves were still in full glory!

Just a couple of quick handhelds, RAWs processed in Silkypix DSP6 and quickly stitched by Kolor Autopano Giga 4.2. And a few missing bits at the bottom edge filled in in PS - they were mainly black anyway. The left shot was ISO 6400, the right one ISO 2500, both DA21 at f3.2 and 1/40 sec.

I would never have thought of stitching together two shots at different ISO. Thanks for that info. I'll store that one in the memory bank. I just hope I can recall it when I need it.
