You might want to try HDR which is trivial in PTGui. You can do both HDR and HDR Fusion. I really like the HDR Fusion method. It seems to be a little like focus stacking but for exposure rather than focus. From what I can tell, assuming you take 5 images of each pano shot, PTGui then select the portion that represents the best exposure for each portion of that shot and blends it all together with the other pano shots. The bottom line - you get what I feel are stunning, realistic panos with just phenomenal highlight and shadow detail. I have migrated to PTGui HDR Fusion from pure HDR for my interior panos of historical buildings. I feel the HDR gives a little cartoonish result whereas the HDR Fusion is realistic. For interiors I use 5 shots @2EV, You could use 5 shots at1 EV for outdoor landscapes. While it does add time it is not that much given all the setup you do, assuming you use a tripod. The worst case is that you still have the 0 EV shots to compare.
