Thanks for including the person. That is very necessary to provide a sense of scale.

I will echo the comment by rayallen. Without the solitary figure it would not be obvious that the entry is monumentally large, and that gives a totally different feeling about the scale of the construction.
Thanks for the kind words and feedback.

I've been known to curse fellow tourists that wander into the frame and wait ages for them to leave but I was happy to include this women for the exact reason that it illustrated the impressive scale of the Monastery.

That's an impressive place... Did you see Indiana Jones by any chance?
The whole of Petra was truly awe inspiring.

I posted some of these here before. This was a neighborhood I lived in as a teenager. Developers came in, bought up all the large parcels of land, raped the trees and earth completely away, and built a couple hundred zero lot line homes.

The images are created from 360 panoramas, then inverted and warped in Photoshop. After reworking them I tried something different, and warped them inside out, rather than outside in.

Inside out.

Outside in.

Interesting photos. It's sad when they do that...

Yes, the degree that developers change the landscape in the name of progress is troubling. My mom was there with me when I made the exposures and she cried. She owned the property that was part of the development for about 40 years. It was a small hobby farm. We had a couple of milk cows (milked them by hand), raised a couple hogs a year for meat, had an occasional steer, chickens, ducks, geese, a large garden.

It is all gone now, getting swallowed up by the advancing cancer of the city.

The inside out images remind me of the planet where the Little Prince worked to keep the volcanoes clean.
