I really like the monochrome work in this thread. I took nearly the identical shot of this last time I was here some years ago.

Really nice -- obviously a superfast lens. f/1.2?

Couple of sunset shots taken from the top of Sugar Mountain, NC:

Thanks. Nice mood on your second one. Not that fast. It was shot on a view camera where the plane of focus was rotated. It was at f5.6 which is about equivalent to f1.8 on a FF 35mm camera.

Thanks for the explanation -- there I was thinking Pentax. Or did Pentax ever make a view camera?

Not that I'm aware of. I have plenty of Pentax pictures posted on PF. This day I was shooting something else.

Whatever you made it with, it is an excellent atmospheric shot. One of these days I'd like to try a view camera, or at least a tilt-shift lens.

Yeah, T/S does open up more selective focus variety. It's too bad T/S solutions aren't more readily available and affordable for our modern cameras.

My view camera doesn't get a lot of use. This year I vowed to at least take it out for some exercise now and then. Good thing too. It's easy to get rusty if you don't use it for a long time. My first shots, which were landscapes, didn't turn out as nice. But by time I took this Dinghy shot I was tuned up enough to get better results. It really takes some patients moving that front standard all around to get the most in focus with the lens wide open.

Why thanks, Eddie. If you're not shooting indoors, view cameras seem to be primarily shots taken within the proximity of your car or backpacking it up for a hike looking for land and seascapes. They are not a very versatile camera both in opportunities for photographic scope and usage, IMHO.
