Patsy Pond a couple weeks ago, after walking trails for several miles and not seeing much of anything, one flew to a tree right near me, a hundred yards from the parking lot. After being there several hours and seeing beautiful scenery but very little wildlife, The woodpeckers show up, then an eastern bluebird, pine warbler, and a flock of yellow-rumped warblers pretty much surrounded me for a few minutes. And of course some people stopped and talked then waste some of that time. It's a small world. I live about an hour south. Croatan National Forest, which Patsy Pond is in is very similar to Holly Shelter in may ways.
