The RAW file was underexposed across the frame. Here it is as shot with no corrections.


I don't think the centre was more underexposed in the RAW file and I didn't apply any local corrections to the centre (just a little vignetting in the corners to accentuate the centre). I guess increasing the exposure might have introduced some artefacts but I'm not seeing anything really obvious. The cloud was patchy - it's not that. There was some horrible purple fringing affecting the leaves in the canopy - maybe that is what you are seeing as artefacts?

Maybe get closer to the dog and make a portrait of it with the lines from the grass adding to the composition?

Not clear what the subject should be here, as the grass takes much of the composition, the dog seems like a spot (could be any other animal) .
