Nice one Tim. Here's mine with some colour play and cloning after a quick crop...

Light and Dark

Just got back from Atlantic City, New Jersey, where the weather was similar to that at Bussleton for this shot. I decided to treat it as an HDR to emphasize the light differences within the capture.
I adjusted contrast, saturation, light strength, vividity, gamma, noise, curves, and sharpness using Dynamic Photo HDR and Paint.Net.

I like the first submission by Tim. Good work there.

I added lighting effects and drained/darkened the colours in hue/saturation. Slight cyan tinge.

My offering this time- going for an old stereoscope vibe. Split toned highlights only, layered over a greyscale version in overlay mode in PS, with the blue buildings masked from the original split-toned image.

I missed last round, but found time for this one.
"There are [a] few challenges with this photo but does it have potential?" Yep. Many fine images lurk here I'm sure. I worked on the large JPG file, beating it up pretty hard in Photoshop. First I straightened the horizon and cropped to emphasize the long jetty. Then I went to town with masked adjustments for basic tonal corrections, dodge & burn, color replacement to make the sand more golden and the sea greener, selective color to refine the sky color, more tonal correction, and a mild vignette. Now it was lookin' too good: bright and sunny with all the mood lost. So I retreated, adding some mist to recreate the mood and make the jetty extend near to infinity.

Here's my attempt. I cropped it to 16:9 to give a more dramatic sense of scale to the jetty, and some black and white magic to give it sort of a doomsday feel:

Time is nearly up, any more challengers? Will leave it open for a few more hours. A very high standard of work so we certainly have quality if not quantity!
