I actually like the warm lighting from the sodium vapor and mercury vapor lights better than LEDs. There are warm white LEDs but they don't tend to use them in street lighting. But that is just from a photography perspective, LEDs are better for power bills and they should last a lot longer.

I'm with you. I bet those do not starburst quite nicely as the old lights.

The down side is light pollution... Them things are just too bright...

I do as well. The light pollution from those types of lights is easy to filter out, LEDs no so much.
