You mean the "shadow" on the left? I get that ever so often with my Nikon 5000 ED with the strip reader. As near as I can tell, it is caused by the scanner mis-reading the frame boundary or some-such and is related to how the film is cut on the end. The Nikon is picky about the end trim. If I feed the same strip through in the opposite direction, the "shadow" resolves. Go figure...
