This is probably a marker ball to make the wires better visible for planes.

Thank you Kobayashi.K. Research did lead me here, but I am not so sure. These are quite high on a hill, which would really not serve that purpose. Close to a Dam (Rietvlei Dam) and I thought it may have something to do with monitoring/measuring air pressure, or humidity or something. Maybe even a camera. There are about two or three on this stretch of wire. Looks pretty electrical too! But I'll settle for Marker balls .

May I also add some photo's here, to support noelcmn for bumping up this thread
I am a traditional minimalist (Minimalism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), so IMHO not all posts here qualify as minimal but alas it was already bbluesman's conclusion after a couple of posts in 2009 that it "means something different to everyone".

Cool banana's as we would say here! Good shots Kobayashi.K and PP. Quite agree with you Kobayahsi.K, though I must say some of the earlier shots are quite a visual feast for the eyes.
Keeping the thread alive.

Oh dear! The memory is not what it used to be-not that it was much anyway .
Ok, two more as an apology.

An older one.

Nice 'twist' on the image sandpipe, gives a subtle alienating effect.
And looking at the fluid in the cup, gravity seems to pull to the south-east ...
Rotating 45 degrees is also possible.
Mondriaan (a minimalist painter) did that too, so its permitted. That would level out the fluid

Taken in 1962 as an experiment with a screw-on close-up lens on a Retinette viewfinder camera. The closest the Retinette could focus was 3.5 feet. Distance had to be measured carefully, and exposure estimated with a hand held.
Framing was another problem with parallax error.
