Another image of this shipwreck. Salt water can really do a job on steel and most metal save gold.

Looks like a reduction /. amplifier gear box from a sawmill or rope making jig or shearers combs overhead power train.

Where did you see it ?

That narrows it down then asuming it is a local piece then logging sheasring or gaol cell door opener/ closer
Any more light on it
Did you see a manufacturers plate or mark on it ?
