A moment later the dragonfly lifted off with the rusty post and took it to his pond so his mate would have a nice place to perch.

Yes,the photo was taken after a visit to the Hellfire Pass Memorial site a very moving and immaculately kept area.
It should also be remembered that the Alllied POWs were joined by tens of thousands of locally "conscripted"(ie enforced)labour from amongst the resident population who suffered similar appalling conditions.

Only a little coating of rust on these "sandals," primarily on the hinge. They were worn by men cutting blubber from a whale and loading it into an autoclave. Thick masses of slimy, slippery, messy and foul smelling goo. No place for Nike or Adidas.
