Originally posted by goatsNdonkey Several years ago, I saw a brief B&W travelogue, apparently shown on British television in as a sort of April Fool's prank, about visiting that area of Italy where the best spaghetti is grown. It showed happy local residents in folk attire picking basketsful of fresh spaghetti, a few strands at a time, from the delicate branches of the spaghetti trees, and taking the harvest back to their farmsteads for drying.
April first used to bring interesting editions of several magazines for which I once maintained subscriptions.
1) A sports car magazine published a road test of a gigantic steam locomotive (acceleration and braking distance are not what we hoped)
2) Either Modern or Popular photography ran a retrospective of the ouvre of a lady photographer. They analyzed in detail the subtle tones, deep meaning, unique perspective and framing, and technical expertise in the most horrible set of images you can possibly imagine.
