That's a nice group, several interesting objects being eaten away by entropy. As I remarked before, every object made of iron in So. Africa is rusting, and noel knows the location of every one.

Apologies to Luca Brasi - This one sleeps with the fishes...or would if the water was deeper.

. Pure instinct on the part of the K-30. It has a habit of deflecting twards Rust wherever I am. I'm innocent

And to prove WPRESTO's correct assertion, I find rust even in nice places like Addo Elephant National Park. Not on the elephants mind you

This one at Swartkops River Mouth

And this one in my sisters back yard. Her hubby is an ex-cop, and probably this is from the days he served as a cop.

There is just something about old, rusty vehicles. Taken with a SMC K 30mm f2.8 on the K-5iis.

Like old vehicles, Pentax gear ages well.

A couple of rusty things in this view, but I put an edge on that rusty scythe blade a few days after the picture and it mowed weeds as well as it ever did.

A couple of antiques slowly returning to nature at a former mine in the Opal Creek Wilderness in Oregon.

The remote town of Jawbone Flats is still occupied. The (mostly original) buildings now serve as a mix of learning facilities, private residences, and rental cabins. It's all off-the-grid, though, and hiking is the main access. The single gravel road to town is not open to public traffic.
