Nevada railroad museum in Carson City. I took those in Nov or Dec of 2008 but am just now looking through them. Good eye btw, most people wouldn't have caught that.

They were getting this locomotive certified . . .

Theses engineers are wearing period cloths . . . the engines have to be certified just like they always did in order to be operated . . .

They also had a small turntable at the Nevada State RR Museum . . . for turning around locomotives in the yard . . .

An Armstrong turntable (so named for the mode of operation). Don't see too many of those. I think they have one at the local museum (Henry Ford Museum) but I've never been able to get near it. Train Days is coming up pretty soon, maybe this year I'll actually go.

Takes a real train nut to spot dual gauge track, especially one that's tried to model it (unsuccessfully)

Same here, do you have a pretty good collection. This train is my only one but I hope to restore some more soon.

Great shots blue, I sure wish we had a steam train near us. When I lived in Rhode Island the Essex steam train was never that far away.
