A little bit of steam nostalgia. All 3 engines ran on the same day to the Victorian Goldfields , R711 and R767 both ran together between Melbourne and Bendigo, J549 met up with them at Castlemaine station (seen in the last picture) and ran to Maldon.

Yes Great Series
There is something about a Steam Driven Locomotive that stirrs the imagination that a Locomotive with an Electric Motor or Internal Combustion/Infernal Confusion Diesel Engine(as old Steam Engineers sometimes called them) just can't duplicate.

Trains again.....this was taken during a photo charter day I co-organised on the Mid Hants Railway. The loco is an un-rebuilt "Battle of Britain" class pacific with "air smoothed" casing and painted in early British Railways colours (i.e Southern Malachite green with British Railways lettering and numbers)

Rain is so rare along the Toyland Ridge line, that is causes impossible congestion at the tractor crossings.

Some of my favorite Vintage Hydroplane shots from this past summer. All taken with my K-3 and DA* 60-250. This combo give me a lot of room for tight crops from across the river with no real loss of quality.
