It may be a VW but I think it is based off of the VW thing, or at least that was my first thought.

Ghost

We were over at White Rock Lake last week and on the way home drove thru the Park Cities area when this thing pulled out in front of us. The wife was driving so I was able to get a couple of quick shots. I was hoping to see something a little more exotic , but this was it

Well it has suicide doors.

It is a 2 door.

It is a fastback.

It has a starlight headliner.

Leather interior.

Heated leather seats.

AM/FM/CD/MP3 w/Navigation -inc: digital radio, 18 speakers, color screen and voice activating system for radio, phone and navigation system.

Mobile hotspot internet access.

A powerful 6.6 liter twin turbo dual overhead cam direct injected V-12 engine.

A ZF 8HP90 8 speed transmission.

It is a Rolls Royce Wraith.

Base price $317,700.

Too exotic for my blood.

Thanks, Arn - good stuff. I noticed the dealer tag lists it as a LeMans (with all the GTO options, of course).

Here's a '67 LeMans seen at a car show a couple years ago:

The HMV Freeway

Would this be exotic enough for you:

Granted you could buy a fleet of these little guys for the cost of the Rolls, but they are definitely exotic. Saw this one at Fleet Farm in Lakevill, MN.
For those wondering what you are looking at it is a HMV Freeway. They were made by the High Milleage Vehicles company which was based in Burnsvill, MN from 1979 to 1981. The cars were all these little 3 wheeled vehicles similar to the post war European microcars. There were 3 or 4 colors available all high visibility, I believe blaze orange, this yellow, bright lime green, and bright red. The cars also came with 3 engine options of which the diesel and electric ones only one example of each was made. The gasoline engine that all the other cars got was a 12HP Tecumseh engine. Yes it had a lawn equipment motor in it but it would reach highway speeds and was sold with the guarantee that at 45mph it would get at least 100mpg. The body is fiberglass and was formed by some local boat manufacturer (I forget which one).

Today you can get one in basically pristine condition for about $5000. If buying one check for rollover damage unless you are looking for a big project.

I like microcars and mini cars so am always on the lookout for them. These are among the rarer ones and I have only seen 2 and most of them still exist in MN and surrounding area.

Hi Racer

$317.000 that barely pays your yearly fuel bill for the daddo..
