I hear people tell me all the time about $300, $500, even $800 and higher service costs.

That’s crazy.

From my very first car I have always done all my own maintenance and repairs. Even when I have bought new vehicles I have elected to do routine maintenance myself.

I suppose having worked many years as a mechanic has given me the skills and knowledge, but even before serving an apprenticeship I could be found crawling under a vehicle, changing oil, relining brakes, replacing clutches, etc.

I’ve even painted a few cars.

It would go against my nature to pay some stranger to change my oil.
Always have done my own repairs and have saved myself 10s of thousands in repair bills over the years.

K3 and DA10-17 at 10mm under heavy rain. I have to constantly wipe off raindrop on the lens's front glass during the shooting and only wish it was a wr lens. Pentax should had made all DA as wr lens. Anyway, I still love what this lens can do. ... if it can do nice starburst like the 15 or 21 green ring, it will be good too... I know it is too much to ask
Can't wait to get mine; should arrive in the mail in a few days...I miss having a fisheye

I'd say because of the tail lights the convertible is a mid 60's Chevy Impala (65 or 66).
The second is maybe an early 70's Dodge Charger or Plymouth Fury probably with a 340 or 440 for an engine (I don't think it is a Dart because of the 4 headlights & recessed grill )
Finally the one on the end (by the roof line and the windshield) is maybe a late 70's early 80's Ford Fairmont or Mercury Zepher

Well done. I can't remember who belonged to the Impala....the 2nd is my 1977 Toyota Celica GT and the third is my parents Mercury Monarch...'77 I think it was

From a trip a few years ago to the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio.

Standard J-1
"The U.S. Army Air Service used the Standard J-1 during World War I for primary flight instruction. Although 1,601 J-1s were produced by four manufacturers (Standard, Dayton-Wright, Fisher Body and Wright Martin), the J-1 never achieved the popularity of the more numerous JN-4 Jenny."

Grumman OA-12 Duck
"The OA-12 Duck is the U.S. Air Force version of the Navy J2F-6 amphibian. Derived from the XJF-1 that first flew in 1933, the J2F series aircraft were used primarily by the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, before and during World War II. "

I'm hoping it's okay if I park this picture here, at least until I find the "Using a Truck Bed as Workbench for Table Saw Maintenance" thematic thread.
