Caused by EPA mandates. The auto company has to meet a real-world mileage and emission mandate, knowing the imprecision of humans. They can design a computer controlled engine and automatic transmission that will meet the EPA test protocol, but can’t meet the test protocol for manual trans. The manual trans protocol has a (negative) mileage and emission penalty for human driving characteristics. Or so EPA thinks. They believe manual transmissions encourage racy driving and unnecessary downshifting.

Every dummy device on a modern car is mandated by the (EPA or NTSB) Nanny State.
Mmm no, in standard WLTP or the old NEDC cycles manual transmissions perform better than auto, for the simple reason the efficiency of a manual transmission is about 95% while an auto if gets 60% is very well designed. Also, without auto transmission a car is much simpler and lighter, therefore the fuel economy and emissions are better.

Most conventional cars in Europe still have manual gearboxes, the problem is that you can't make a manual hybrid therefore as that is the direction of the market manual transmissions are doomed. Again, not a problem of cycles or anything like that.

However, this is the LR Wolf proto as requested in another thread.

Was there a stop in Billings this year Steve?

I caught them at Paine Field back in 2007, and got an hour of right seat time in the B25.

Here is the B24.

Yep, they're here in Billings this week. I'm hoping to catch the departures.

Any wider and it wouldn’t fit through the locks.

It was actually custom made to fit these locks, so it can go across Scotland coast to coast on inland waterways.

Yep, some of them were quite intricate if rather deadly for pedestrians. I liked the ones on the Desoto and Pontiac which were lit at night.

12,000 Horsepower with Vivitar (Komine) 28mm F2

A Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad train lead by four 3,000 HP Electro-Motive diesel locomotives is framed by the farms and hills of Indiana County Pennsylvania. The huge Homer City Generating Station, one of the largest and now cleanest, coal fired plants in the United States is in the background. The tallest chimney, over 1200 feet, is the third tallest in North America, however it is no longer in use. Replaced by the chimney with the steam coming out.

The photo was taken with a Pentax K-3 and a Vivitar (Komine) Close Focus 28mm F2.0 lens I recently bought off a Pentax forum member. My K-3 overexposed with all stop down metering lenses in bright light, so I dialed in negative 1.3 stops.
