The Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds flying a joint mission as a tribute to first responders today (28 April). They flew over the medical center at Stony Brook University on Long Island, following an appearance over NYC (Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn). These shots were taken as they headed out from Stony Brook to make appearances over New Jersey and Philadelphia. K-3II and 55-300mm PLM, cropped from image taken at 300mm.

Happened upon this Alfa Spider yesterday, and was so transfixed by the utter heartbreaking beauty of it that I've completely forgotten any details. Maybe I remember noticing a 1600 on the back?

Nice-looking little car, Dave. I wonder if that license/tag decal is permanently affixed to the hood of the car? Or maybe it's magnetic? Be a shame if that was stuck on the car like that...

A magnetic one could be a possibility. But here in the UK cars keep the same registration all their lives, so a permanently stuck on or painted on one wouldn't be a major problem. The "J" suffix on that car dates it to sometime between 1 August 1970 and 31st July 1971. (About the same vintage as a lot of the lenses that we both enjoy using.
