DFW Airport observation area...

Funny, there used to be two or three similar observation areas along MIA's "perimeter road", but shortly after 9/11 they were closed and never reopened. It was a great place to watch the Concorde, when it was flying into/out of Miami twice a week (long ago, obviously). That section of the perimeter road parallels the 9L/27R runway for quite some distance, so it was primo viewing there. <ahem> very popular at night

Thanks, Albert - things just miraculously worked out that time!
We can't always be wrong, even though it seems I try as hard as possible.

oops.. there were three flights a week, my bad. British Airways, Miami/London... quite an amazing sight!
and, um, yes, most interesting at night, although Concorde was not one of the highlights in the dark...

I don't think the adamant greens would agree with you. They were rather inefficient after all.

Most ' greenies ' are not mukti-millionares so could not afford a ticket anyway.
The tragic accident was its demise.

Passed by a small fishing boat in the harbour.

Container terminal on Stonecutter Island in the background, and needle hill farther back, I think
