A scan of a picture that I took in 1963, with a Kodak Instamatic 304 camera. It was taken at the USN Submarine Base in Groton, CT. The submarine in the foreground is the USS Tullibee (SSN-597). She was a one-of-a-kind R&D submarine for testing out a turbo-electric drive propulsion system. The submarine in the background (SSN-589) is the USS Scorpion, which was lost at sea in 1968.

This was definitely the Ugly Duckling of the car show. No need wasting a lot of money on a fancy paint job.
