Several years ago we had "LimeBikes" on every corner, especially near bus stops. I saw a few in neighborhoods, never saw anyone actually riding one. "First ride free" My recollection is that they were ordinary pedal-bikes, not assisted. Then they all disappeared.
We had LimeBikes here for awhile but they wound up blocking sidewalks, hanging from lamp posts, I saw a guy (intoxicated) ride one into the side of a classic Nash Rambler, and other assorted problems so they were banned here. This one is on an island that is a migratory bird nesting site.

I'll bet just about every Pentaxian knows exactly where this square-rigger is docked.

Curious how the masses react to things.

They rent an electric bike, or those electric kick-n-go things.

They become a nuisance when people with no respect for others simply hop off wherever they please, with no concern as to where, and how it may impact others.

Vandals damage them, hang them in trees, etc.

These rentals are operated by private companies, not public transit authorities, so they need to be profitable to continue providing the service. Such a shame how some people have to undermine the success of these businesses.

Don't think so, this was before Covid. I think it was more the onset of hot/wet season here...who in their right mind would get on a bike in Miami in June?!

They all disappeared around here coincident with Covid. They are just now beginning to reappear.

I'll keep an eye peeled...they first appeared near bus stops, maybe that will be the same pattern this time. I think the bikes are different this time -- electric boosted.

Ships passing in the night. An exaggeration for the small Bowen Island ferry, Queen of Capilano.

A different perspective of vehicles, the interior of a small plane that shuffles tourists between Maui and Molokai. M and I had it all to ourselves.
