Some would say a "Perfectly Fitting analogy"
I don't know however, what to say about the state of the world when it comes to the Green light used to identify the right or Starboard side of the ship. A color which could sometimes represent politicians with an extreme left wing environmentalist stand and of course the Irish of all political stripes. The only Blue Lights which usually represent the more conservative side of the political spectrum are, on a ship, used as a reference light to help steer and keep the ship in the middle of a narrow channel or canal. This "Port Listing Ship" analogy quite literally puts the "Blue" Conservatives in the middle reaching out the "Green" environmentalists and Leprechauns to prevent them from falling into the "Red" Liberal camp.
well, not so much your color scheme doesn't work for the US
in the United States the relationship of colors and political parties has shifted over time
Red vs. Blue: A history of how we use political colors - The Washington Post
currently the Democratic Party is considered the liberal/progressive/left leaning party and is Blue
the Republican Party is considered conservative/right wing party and is Red
back in the past, each party had various sections Liberal/Moderate/Conservative. Now there are no liberal or moderate Republicans and no conservative Democrats
of course we also have the range of other political parties as well
here is another link re politics and colors when it was done I can't tell but the Black Panthers are long gone
