A faded and dusty Super Beetle - but looks like a good candidate for a resto:
A bottle of rubbing compound, some 100% cotton baby diapers, elbow grease, then some carnuba paste wax, more baby diapers and elbow grease, and that Beetle could shine like a diamond in a goat's, . . . . um, well, you know it would look pretty sweet, for not much money and a bit of hard work.

I see a drip pan, so it needs rocker cover gaskets. Maybe a case gasket and crank seals.

Fix it up!

I bet they consume a huge amount of fuel to keep all those fans moving air.
I agree, but they do get to the emergency pretty quickly.

And then there are the times when they're going nowhere at all; or are maybe already there.

There is a Lancaster Bomber with 4 Packard Merlin engines hangered in the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Hamilton Ontario and is still flying
A friend of mine just went up in it a couple of weeks ago as a treat for his 80th birthday, and also in remembrance of his uncle's crew who were all lost when their Lancaster was shot down 74 years ago.

It amazes me what they were able to do back them as to the machine work --All by hand No CAD I asked the docent by the Rolls display if the ones made by Packard were SAE or Whitworth He did't know and I didn't either at the time. As per the Wiki all Packard built Rolls engines were built to there specs.

None of these compare to the 1959 Impala Like the one I had back in the day it was aa 283 with the Power Glide and Red cherry Bomb Glass Packs . Man did I think I was Cool
The last piston powered Unlimited on the circuit powered by a dual turbocharged Allison V-12. Ed has quite a few of these engines to keep his boat racing.

That photo reminds me how much I hate the little black box on the unused coupler and how much the almighty dollar has put so many people out of work.
Around here they call that box an EOTD, End of Train Device.

Slowly going through my photos still. Next time I attend an event, I will hopefully improve on getting more zoomed in on the subject during their performances.
