I know what you mean about the nostalgia. I loved my '56 Monarch (Mercury to you south of the border), 2-Dr hardtop, baby blue and white, with a nice 312. Some years later we had that 283 and powerglide tranny combo in a '67 Beaumont.
However, our current little VW puts out 292 hp from a 2000 cc (122 cubic inches) engine, has AWD, different driving modes for shift-points, suspension, steering, etc., and stock does 13 second 1/4 miles while using about 1/2 the gas of the oldies!
But, I still miss the sound of those V8's.

6-speed daily commuter = fun even in city traffic.

Vivitar 55/2.8 Macro - not really showcasing sharpness or perfect focus on this shot - I just like the overall outcome I got on it.

Slowly going through my photos still. Next time I attend an event, I will hopefully improve on getting more zoomed in on the subject during their performances.

Although closeup shots can be stunning, the wide view gives us a different perspective.

K5 + F28
My old combo for street photo. Now the K5 is broken, and F28 had found a new home.

My daughter recently returned from a trip to Venice, Italy. She grabbed a few shots with her iPhone 6+

Is that the safety barge at the front as no boats are passing ?
