We were eating at Puckett's in Franklin, Tennessee when the waiter came up he was laughing and said Chubby Checker's Bus pulled in behind the place (it is also the back of a theatre where he was playing). The waiter said the bus looked like it was as old as the "Twist" and that he didn't know he was still alive. He is!

Not knowing anything about the artist, I see a bus with "Chubby Checker" on its sides, I have to laugh and perhaps try to peep inside.

In the early 60's I won a beer mug for best Twist, with a nurse in Camp Borden's CFMSTC officer's mess at a party. I still have it and use it often. It was probably Chubby's Twist Again recording that was used.

You must be really young, Ed, unlike an old fart like me! There's a guy on Sirius Radio's 60's on 6 called Cousin Brucie - Chubby was on his show this past year.

Love the early GTO's! I thought the first year was '64, with the '63 Tempest Lemans having a different body style, and only a 326?

Paul and Racer, here's another one I love - '65 - note on the Dealer Invoice that the tri-power was a $115 option.

I thought so too.

But the car has a 1963 license plate. Classic cars can be permanently registered using a YOM (year of manufacture) plate in Washington. I didn't talk with the owner, so don't know the story.

Sorry, I'm not young. Just non-American.

I grew up in the Caribbean.

I do love US music, anything until 1970s (jazz, rock) and 1990s onwards (rock, punk, good stuff).

I did not dig the twist or mashed potatoes or the likes.
