I'm certain it was the same engine. Chrysler actually introduced that engine in 1938! My '55 Savoy had a small automatic transmission lever on the dashboard, rather than the pushbuttons you had, to control that same 2-speed auto trans. The amazing contrast between those cars and those of today is the amount of space under the hood around the engine. With the hood up, two adults could stand on either side of the engine, and play cards on top of the engine. Now just trying to reach an arm in next the engine can be a struggle!
It's even more of a struggle to fix anything.

I don't think it will fit in my carport, the clearance is 9'8" (3 m)

With the ladder rack on top, it's about 10 feet tall. Though it's actually shorter than my extended cab pickup truck.

Allowing for a couple of inches of packed snow, my clearance is down to 9'6" -- ain't going to fit.

Indeed it is! I spent more time there than with any other car on display that day.

And just how many years did you spend in the military trying to get deuce-and-a-half trucks under low bridges?

And then there is the approach that I have seem some drivers use of speeding up thinking they can just push their way through. I have seen the end result of that and it never ends well including many blown out tires.

It counts for your Dad. Not so much for you, though. I had enough problems with my RCASC drivers with Deuce-and-a-halfs carrying tents and towing kitchens. I was RCAMC.

On vehicle topic, I was one of a number of people RCEME hated during my NATO service in Germany. The German government made seat belts mandatory - the three pointers - and it was required to fit existing vehicles or license them for parade use only. The B pillars on Mercs and B+Ws had tool steel cores. They used a bit per hole for the attachments. Most of the language is NSFW.

Hi Canada

He was there post WW11 in the peace corp being shot at but could only throw stones in reply otherwise it could have restarted/continued.
All his photos were taken by his sister and husband on his passing. Some i still have in my memory.
An aside a jeep could be stripped and stolen from the compound in under 15 minutes

This is not a commuter train... it is an MTA service train.. on the 5 train tracks, Bronx 149th Street

The girl standing to the left of the train kinda scares me... legs are somewhat out of position.
