I know that's why I referenced Disney....Several years ago we were at Disney World and we stopped at the Boardwalk and I commented to my family then it was way too clean to be Atlantic City...no gum no weathered slats, no trash by the posts...it was surreal, like Vegas or Disney....

Way back when I drove Monstro and Company I delivered to Thetford Mines, Quebec. On the way back I found myself headed toward Montreal on a roadway that I would equate to an interstate highway or freeway. Limited access, 2 and in some places 3 lanes in each direction, exits and onramps, overpasses, etc. Autoroute Félix-Leclerc, about 11 klicks out of Trois-Rivières.

As I was driving along I encounter an at grade railroad crossing.

I cannot get my head around why they thought it a good idea to have an at grade railroad crossing on a freeway.

Looking at Google Earth now I see they built overpasses there.

About time, I suppose.

There were two of those here in Missouri that I know of at one time, but they have both been fixed in recent times. One of them was on one of the highest volume sections of roadway in Springfield, MO. I think some of these things are a battle of wills between the railroad and the highway department. In the end I believe the highway department paid for the overpasses at both locations.

I know they used to use a crawler like that to bring rockets from the assembly building to the launch pad in Cape Canaveral
This one is a little small for that so I think it was used to carry pre-assembled modules for a ship or some other heavy equipment in a mine or tar sands

As already mentioned, some sort of crawler, for moving something quite large, in a shipyard moving large subassemblies, as a base for a heavy lift crane, or on site at a strip mine with the giant multi scoop bucket thing that chews through the earth like a chainsaw though a tree.

Clearly a very specialized piece of equipment.
