I shot directly into the afternoon sun which caused horrible, washed out colors. Photoshop and the infrared black and white filters to the rescue.

da15...k-3ii...pixel shift....@f8....wonder if the fall off in particular the 2nd imagee (even though cropped but not like a bird or a bug) is from the pixel shift which was done in camera....seems this lens should be sharp across the frame.....I dunno

Wide angle lenses see the sky from different directions at the edges. I have seen this often with 28 mm, let alone 15

it's more about the black text on the body of the car and even the car is smudged some......if lucky enough i do plan to take the same shot with sears 28/f2.8 which i believe will perform better......

Must be a non US VW. I had a '72. The lights and bumper look like mine, but the turn signals looks like the ones on the mid '70s VWs

Thanks folks. I've seen that Beetle around and about on the roads quite a few times in the past, but this was the first chance I've had to get a snap of it. The L suffix on the plate means it was first registered sometime between August 1972 and July 1973, but it looks like it's been immaculately cared for.
