If you
really want to see this type of contrast, go to the EAA AirVenture, held every year in Oshkosh, at least once. They have everything from pre-WW1 aiurcraft (i.e. a replica of the Wright Flyer, etc) to modern military aircraft (i.e. F-22, B-2, etc) on display and flying, some in similar formation flights to this one, but with multiple generations of aircraft. Back in 1985, I was sent out to the Oshkosh show on the company Gulfstream 2 and I've posted a number of pictures here at various times. I find it astonishing to see what people have kept in flightworthy condition and the sheer number of different models of aircraft flying is incredible. For example, if you wished (and had the money!) you get rides in various trimotors or even fly on the Concorde in its airshow routine (including going supersonic over Canada). For someone interested in aircraft, this is the premiere event!
