When I was a student at Berkeley in the early 60's, all the engineering students I knew understood that highway was doomed to collapse in the exactly the manner that it did. Apparently it was a standard example of bad engineering in some class they took.

Strictly a pedestrian bridge SFAIK when this image was taken, but it may have transported small vehicles when built In Nova Scotia. SCAN from the Film Era

I might have to make the 3 hour drive to Ft. Wayne (I'm in the southern part of Indiana.) Is it lit up at night?

The new railroad bridge over the Genesee River at Letchworth State Park. I think they did an excellent job designing a bridge the fit into the setting. It replaced a 140 year old bridge that predated the park.

Bridge over Wolf Run Creek. Letchworth State Park. All the stone work was done during the 1930's by the CCC. (Civilian Conservation Corps). This is part of a hiking trail that runs the length of the park along the west bank of the Genesee River.

It just has basic lights, nothing really exciting. There's a couple other bridges in Fort Wayne, that have color changing LED lights. I'll try to get into Fort Wayne in the late afternoon / evening to see how they look, and grab a couple pictures.

If you like to photograph bridges, I've used this site https://historicbridges.org/index.php to see what is close by, or what I might pass on trips.

A covered bridge in the area...

From June 2016. Replacing a bridge over the west bound lanes of Interstate 94, 16 miles east of the border between Wisconsin and Minnesota. Taken with my late lamented MX-1. That was a gem of a little camera. No idea why it got such bad press on this and other sites. Several nice features like in camera stitching etc.
