Maudslie Bridge over the River Clyde. The bridge and the lodge in the picture were built about 1861 to serve a now demolished castle across the river.

Yes, cool shot, but I wouldn't want to sail anywhere with that ice. Sometimes I think "it's boring here in the office, I want to be out at job sites [road repair and reconstruction] more often." Then I visit a job site and feel sorry for the guys placing hot asphalt on a steamy summer day, and the winters are worse.

Here's an image of French King Bridge spanning the Connecticut River.

Yes it is noisy and very hard on the ship & machinery when working in the ice, but when the ship is in the ice and a storm brews up the ice protects it from being rolled and pounded by the sea.

Noel, love the picture on a couple of fronts: sunrise (?), reflection, composition, (and the fact the bridge was built in spite of the secret women's business)

Portland's newest bridge, Tilikum Crossing!

(Many thanks to mattb123 for the photo outing while he was in town. He was about 20 yards behind me shooting some other aspect of the bridge.)

So I was hanging out with Steve while he shot those. Nice, Steve! I have some fairly similar ones be here are a couple that aren't too alike. It's a cool bridge!
