Used to be a bridge, does this count? My region doesn't have many spectacular bridges, like the ones beautifully captured above

Also not a spectacular bridge, but the setting isn't bad.
This is an old railroad bridge. Sadly the train doesn't come here anymore (since the 1950's).
The water is rising fast with the snow melting up high.

Hey, Durham is not far from you. Maybe you should take a drive over that way and get some shots of the Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge there, on Gregson street. It is 11 feet 8 inches high, and even though there are warning lights, and a safety "crash beam" set just before the bridge, dipsticks still run into the bridge, on a very regular basis.

There is even a website dedicated to it, set up by a guy who works in a building adjacent to the bridge.

Check it out: 11 FOOT 8 ? The Canopener Bridge

I took a long bike ride around the northern half of Manhattan (New York City) this weekend. I passed a lot of bridges along the East, Harlem, and Hudson Rivers. Small versions here because there are so many; click to see larger versions.

The dual spans of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (Maryland), shot from the eastern shore (Hemmingway's parking lot) on a hazy June afternoon. Capture with my K10D and DA 50-200.
