Great capture. I noticed what looks like a dent in the first column on the right on the bridge. It would take some serious force to bend that steel. My guess is there is a story that goes with it.

Despite a very serious arrangement of check rails to align any derailed wagons being dragged along. As a former railway engineer*, I'm impressed.

* In the UK sense of the word.

Didn't notice! Thanks. These days, most wagons I see are flatcars, so perhaps something moved and protruded out of the wagon.

Would love to see some pics of the British railways. I've been a railfan/ model railroader since I was 5 or 6.

We lived about a half mile from there, and yes it's impressive. They go all out at Christmas, and it was also a good place to escape the summer heat. They maintained a comfy 72F inside the "biodome", as I called it.
