As a native New Yorker in exile in Massachusetts I love the photos of the NYC bridges. The Macombs Dam Bridge is a favorite; when I worked in the South Bronx a couple of summers while in college I would occasionally go out of my way to go over it and get to the George Washington Bridge on city streets. To be a bit pedantic, the Sydney Harbor Bridge (opened in 1932) was in part inspired by the Hell Gate Bridge (which opened to train traffic in 1917). New York has another gorgeous arch bridge, the Bayonne (opened 1931) connecting Staten island with New Jersey. Boston has a few nice bridges but New York is filled with them.
