Mawddach Estuary Railway Bridge, North Wales

.
This is on a long single track branch railway that leaves the main line in England at Shrewsbury, winds its way westwards to the Welsh coast, and then turns north, crossing this bridge near Barmouth, and eventually reaching Pwllheli in the Lleyn Peninsular. It is lucky to have survived both Beeching and torpedo worms - most of the bridge is timber.

Likely a rail elevated bridge in the Bronx. I estimate it goes over the Bronx River and Westchester Avenue

One of several low bridges over a canal in Copenhagen. The next bridge is partially visible through the central arch of the near bridge.

Whitestone Bridge Maybe the best angle I've gotten out of it...

I went back several pages to peruse images I had not seen on this thread. When I was a kid, around 1950 +8 or - 4 years, the Whitestone bridge was THE bridge, crossed on our way to a summer visit in Maine where my father grew up. Back then, it was a long hot trip primarily on Route 1. Later we used the Throgs Neck as it was little further east. (Image #2366 posted a couple pages back)

Low bridges! I've posted other images similar to those below on other threads. Passing under a couple of the low bridges on a canal in Copenhagen. The tour boats are specially designed to get under, the tour guide admonishes constantly to remain seated, do not reach with arms overhead, and keeps an eye on tourists to be sure they obey. The bridges are from a variety of eras. Some are ancient stone structures, the one in the first image below looks modern.

Most of these Bridges are a bit "outdated", especially not designed for the huge SUV/American trucks that we see regular Joes owning nowadays... I always cruise with my Mazda 3 (2011 hatchback), and fit anywhere... but some of the drivers with a Suburban for example, they take two lanes...

Interesting to me to have the Throgs Neck outdated, as I can remember seeing it under construction. Guess I'm better built than a bridge.

With respect to a suburban, I think the correct observation is "taking his half out of the middle"

Good comparison - these bridges vs the new Tapan-Zee Bridge ( I refuse to call it Cuomo)

Yes. I cannot kick the Tappan Zee name. Went over the old bridge many times in recent years as it is the best route to visit our daughter, and sometimes when driving west for some reason (national agility trials in Ohio in 2017 comes to mind). Crossing it during roadway improvement for the new bridge was a real test of nerves. I wish I could have been there for the blast that took down most of the old bridge. The new bridge and roads across The Bronx are much better, but still it can become a linear parking lot at times. One stalled car can create an amazing amount of delay.

Well... my daily commute involves the Cross Island or Clearview - Throgs Neck (Triboro once in a blue moon) - Cross Bronx or Bruckner into 161st area... and then backwards.

I might be changing gigs soon; if it happens I will miss the Bronx, but I will not miss the traffic

Very nice! I had forgotten about these bridges in San Antonio. I haven’t been there since 1988 or so. Is this along the river walk??

Edit: funny, but in the quote I see that it is indeed on the River walk! Thank you for posting!
Wait, now it’s gone!?! Oh well, nice photo!!
