An old country church in Smoky Mountain NP, TN. I am not a big fan of this higher ISO shooting, but we didn't have the time to drag out the tripod and such.

A church in look and spirit very similar to the one posted by KCOPET. If you have trouble reading the sign: the Mammoth Cave Baptist Church. A severely plain, practical interior looking unkempt, but the roof looks quite new and I think services are still held.

Did a quick browse back through the thread and didn't see (or missed) a shot of one of the most iconic scenes from Nova Scotia. Namely the Three Churches in the community of Mahone Bay

Now, can we assume that, for the town to be socially balanced, it also has at least three taverns?

That I can't tell you but Mahone Bay was considered a major sea port along that is in close proximity to the Historic Port of Lunenburg and the Mysterious Oak Island which was frequented by Pirates and other seafarers. So it is entirely possible that there would have been at least three establishments where alcohol could be procured and consumed along with other forms of entertainment in Mahone Bay over the years.

We stepped into a number of these little Baptists churches in Appalachia. The stark, severe plainness of the interior, devoid of almost any decoration, is such a glaring contrast to the magnificence and sometimes decorative excess of European cathedrals.

I'm pretty certain the church I pictured in post #385 is the same one you pictured in post #377. Take a look, and why didn't you say Hi! when we were there?

Well, hmm I guess I didn't recognize you, do you not look like your avatar?

Or maybe it's that I don't look like mine?
