A famous church in Munich with exuberant decoration, but relentlessly white.

Same church as above. looking up into the dome above the crossing. I would not volunteer to clean dust from the fussy-work

But it has the somewhat undefinable "British Charm." The perpendicular style, as it's called, exudes the bucolic life of the English countryside.

An aisle in another famous Munich church. Very spare decoration here. I think this building suffered major damage during the war.

I posted pictures of the interiors of two churches just above. The second one had almost severely plain walls and pillars, white with little surface embellishment. The first I posted was a great deal of surface work, but it still severely white. The image below is a small baroque church famous for its overwhelming complexity of surface sculpturing and almost carnival-like use of color everywhere you look. Your eyes almost ache trying to take in all of the decoration.

And the decoration of this church is a real betweeny - some plain white, some vivid color, some flat surfaces, some surface decorative relief.

Another chirch with white walls, but this one is low so it's dark and bordering on spooky inside.

Church corner. First Baptist on the left, First United Methodist on the right and First Christian in the rear.

Makes parking difficult for the congregation. Should choose to locate further apart to avoid competition for parking spaces.

Nah. It ups the congregation in the ones with fewer members; if the only place you can park is in the low congregation church, you just walk in and the congregation grows.

There were a couple churches in my hometown quite near each other. To the exasperation of one, and probably eventually resolved, the other ended a service a started ringing the steeple bells half an hour sooner.
